It was not laid out for muskie fishing and Syl did not do the work, but my father in law and his 2 brothers were roaring around portage lakes in the boat they bought as teenagers after my wife's cousin restored it. It's a screamer after having the bigger motor put on it a few years after they bought it.
(the 3 carbs are a bit out of tune at idle and low speed. If anyone knows of a good Merc mechanic for older motors, Ken will be back in town with the boat soon. Dick wants to make arrangements to get the carbs tuned before fall. Thanks!)
Thanks for posting that. I have a 1967 Thompson Seacoaster that my father restored about 40 years ago. It now belongs to my son, as my Dad wanted, and I enjoy seeing it, whenever I go into the back garage. Wood boats are special, they breathe life. Hopefully it will be used more in the future. John
