Here is the schedule for the MWCD draw downs. The good news for Leesville is the draw down doesn't start until November 15 and will take 42 days to complete....the bad news is the draw down level is 8.75 feet. Will make the ramp at the lowest pool a real challenge. MWCD drawdone schedule |

Wow, been a long time since the drawdown has been more than 8’. I can’t recall it ever being more than 8’. Going to have to come up with a plan for extending the ramp better than we did a few years ago with bricks and gravel. Shame that the new ramp design didn’t take into consideration our request that it be more usable at 8’ down. I have been to Atwood’s ramp when it is 8’ down and there is still solid concrete extending out into the water. Almost nobody using it. Go to Leesville when the lake is 8’ low and the parking lot is packed and we are risking life and limb and boat trailer and vehicles to launch our boats. But enough bitching from this grumpy old man. With the drawdown not starting until Nov. 15 the lake may very well be frozen over before it gets that low and we won’t have to worry about it.
