UGH! that's ugly! i used to fish a small electric only lake near there called Tamarack. full of muskies and nobody fished it. well it ended up with a damn problem. the game commission came in netted what they could and took them all to woodcock is what they told us. then they drained it, and it was a mud hole. never went back to see the outcome.
Woodcock was best right after they drained Tamarack and put the fish in there. We had some good days that year….numbers and size. That was probably around 1999/2000 or so. The Tamarack fish that were put in Woodcock seemed to be pretty susceptible to trolling because they had never seen that type of presentation at Tamarack.
Tamarack was intentionally drained a couple times. After it was drained, re-filled, and restocked the first time, it got pretty good again. I remember i had a very good day in the spring of 2007 from our 14’er while we were waiting for our new Lund. It was since drained again for dam repairs. I don’t know/haven’t heard anything about it since.

I was fishing French Creek when we heard about Woodcock. Took a ride over and i cant see how any fish could have survived. All that was left was the creek channel and some ice. i would say almost all the fish went through dam. They just stocked 250 muskie fingerlings and 500 walleye fingerlings couple weeks ago.
